Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
Ethical leadership, characterized by integrity, accountability, and transparency, is essential for fostering trust and organizational success. Corporate communication plays a vital role in promoting ethical leadership by articulating values, reinforcing ethical standards, and fostering a culture of accountability. In Takum Local Government Area, Taraba State, organizations often face leadership challenges, including unethical practices and low employee trust. Research highlights that strategic communication can influence leadership behavior, promote ethical practices, and enhance organizational culture (Okafor & Ibrahim, 2023). This study examines how corporate communication contributes to promoting ethical leadership in the region.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite the importance of ethical leadership, many organizations in Takum struggle with leadership practices that erode trust and hinder performance. Poor communication strategies exacerbate these issues, limiting the promotion of ethical values. This study investigates the role of corporate communication in addressing these challenges and fostering ethical leadership.
